This half term year 3 have been looking at the piece of music, “Peter and the Wolf” by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. He was commissioned to write the music in 1936 to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. Each character is played on a different instrument and has a different melody to represent them. In music we had to create our own piece of music to represent an animal. We had to look at all the musical elements and combine them with the characteristics of our animal. For example 3D chose a sloth, the tempo had to be slow. The rhythms also had to be slow. 3T chose a snake and used a flute as it reminded of us a snake charmer.
We hope you listen and enjoy our pieces.
