Torriano is part of the Camden Oracy Hub which offers schools the opportunity to join the Camden Oracy Leaders programme working in partnership with Voice 21, the Unicorn Theatre and Cambridge University. The year-long programme combines deep pedagogical knowledge with planning tools, action research groups, peer critique and resources to support the practical application of oracy in class. Through our whole school theme: ‘A Time to Talk; A Time to Change’ we continue to learn about the 17 Global Goals which aim to end extreme poverty, fight inequalities and fix climate change. Our aim is for our children to develop learner competencies set out in our new values framework.
At Torriano, we have been exploring mastery in mathematics since September 2015. This year we have started our TRG with 5 other schools, reflecting on the impact of the 5 main ideas of mastery- Representations and structure, Mathematical thinking, variation, fluency and coherence.
